There was this artist on Pixiv that drew the bots with glasses and it made such an impact on me that I’ve always wanted to draw my own. Its a combination of my favorite things. Oh man so much fun. More will have to wait until after work~
My iMac of 5 years is on its dying legs, singing its swan song, freezing consistently every 10 minutes or so, or whenever I do something like lasso or undo too much.
I undo a lot.
It makes producing a finished piece excruciatingly painful right now. Even sketching is pretty frustrating. Here is a human soundwave sketch I’ve been sitting on for a while, but every time I work on it I want to throw my computer out of a window. I could never figure out what to make him hold either… no cassette tapes in fantasy worlds.
So for my birthday TFP literally gave me a dead Decepticon. THANKS. This is two weeks late now, but I super crunched to finish him this evening because inspiration for his armor finally struck and I wanted to tackle it before it ran away again. Breakdown~~~ j ___j

Knockout proved to be FAR more challenging than Starscream for several reasons. Mostly because while Starscream’s design already struck me as somewhat knightly, Knockout is… clearly a CAR. I had to alter his uniform quite a bit, but I did my best to try and make sure the silhouette and color composition felt very familiar.
Don’t get me wrong, I totally prefer the bots as bots. This just seemed like it would be a fun challenge. X)
Oh god I can’t believe I broke my don’t-finish-anything rule already. But I had… to paint the shiny.
I think I love Knockout I mean Soundwave I mean all of the Decepticons. New season started and I had to get this out of my system. Not sure it worked.
