I needed a break from notations on my art book and I also needed to get this out of my system. This album really needs to come out already. T_T
Huahahah guess who’s putting an art book together at the last minute?
Hint: It’s me. Preview of the cover and interior cover!
I agree that Anthony Misiano’s cosplay is incredible. I tried pretty hard to try and make sure my joker wasn’t in likeness (a few posts back in my blog document my probably futile struggle), but I love the guy and want to help him out in any way possible. I’ve edited the original post to include a link to his Facebook, and I’ll include another one here. If anyone hasn’t seen him before, please check him out, he’s really wonderful.
Let’s turn this city upside down.
I tried pretty hard not to get him to look like Anthony Misiano, but I have likely failed. I don’t think anyone can deny he makes an incredibly awesome Joker. If you haven’t seen him please check him out!
Ahhh and here is the 3rd book I’m putting together this year. This is a collaborative Sherlock fanbook with myself and 6 other artists:
Gem2niki | Sarah Stone | Laine | Saka | Pepper-tea | Elda The
7 Patch Problem will contain 10 pages of color artworks by the above awesome people, and a 26 page black and white comic by myself. (Those of you paying attention to this sort of thing, this is the case!comic I mentioned some time back.)
This book will contain no slash content, except for a certain amount of ho yay that’s not terribly much more than what’s in the actual show (and unless you count a sneaky appearance of red pants which I am actually not responsible for).
48 pages, approx. 7.5x10 inches, price undetermined (I’ll have a pricelist closer to the con time).
*This book will only be available at conventions! Because the other artists attend different conventions, it’s possible they might be available at more cons than I’m attending. I’ll keep you guys up to date on it :)
*Although the physical book will only be available at cons, all of the content will eventually be available online. Including the entire case comic. The other books that I’ve already posted about are already online (they’re just collections of old content).
*If you’re thinking “wow you missed an opportunity here why didn’t you call it 7% Solution,” it’s because that’s more of a classic Sherlock thing than BBC Sherlock, which is the version this book is about. (Also haha I wasn’t sure of the number of artists until very close to the end.) (But yeah don’t think we didn’t consider it.)
*The above cover is a collab between Pepper, Elda and myself.
*This book and others are not intended for profit! We’ve made them because we love the show and love to draw and love to share!
Reaper is so awesome for organizing and putting this together and for allowing me to participate~ I will be bringing these to the conventions I go to!
I would loooooooooove to!! I’ve discussed it with my friends once or twice because it would be seriously awesome, but I’ve yet to do any real research or scheduling. What are the major conventions there? * U* Do you recommend any?
Waaahahahahaah oh my gosh I can’t. I’m so embarrassed, hahahaa. I tried so hard to make it not look like him but in the end IT STILL DOES OH MY GOD :LSKDJF:LKJSDF *falls over broken*
*laughs nervously for an uncomfortable amount of time*
I have a lot of respect for Ze Frank, and I adored his year-long project, The Show. So many people have said things similar to this, but it’s always a good thing to hear again. In summary: if you want to make stuff, make stuff. It’s the only way you’ll get past the point of making things to the point of having made stuff. Then you get to make more stuff. So go make stuff!
Thoughts on the Creative Career (by zefrankenfriends)
Incredible advice by a man I’ve long admired.
I was watching a documentary on the Chernobyl disaster and a photograph of one of the soldiers really stuck with me. He wouldn’t get out of my head as I tried to design this uniform.
I was out of town this weekend for Sakura-con, and then picked up something nasty while in Seattle, so I’ve been stuck at home, groaning feverishly under a million blankets. I will do my best to get the prints packed and sent off before the end of the week, but I also want to make sure they are not plague-tubes, so may wait if this bug persists.
I will try and email everyone individually too to let them know of the delays, but I just wanted to do a general announcement too for anyone who might buy them soon. It’s taking me a little longer than usual right now, so I’m sorry!
Thanks everyone for being so patient. T UT
I am back from Sakuracon! Wow you guys what a wonderful con. T uT It was truly awesome to meet so many awesome people. :D I returned with many gifts and so much awesome art (and omg such awesome food in Seattle). I’ll probably post some pictures from the trip later on my personal blog, but here are a few of the commissions I did there!
This was my first time offering commissions at a con because before I was too insecure about my traditional skills to do them. So hooray for progress!
It was one of those days when all I wanted to do was draw Avok cute clothes, so I made a base drew him in embarrassing undies and then quickly jotted out a bunch of ideas.
